DSFS Launches ‘The DSFS Way’ – A Permanent Commitment to Culture, Values and Inclusion
Derbyshire Support and Facilities Services (DSFS) has officially launched a new internal culture programme, The DSFS Way, marking a significant milestone in the organisation’s journey to strengthen values, inclusion, and staff engagement across all areas of its operations.
Unlike a time-limited campaign, The DSFS Way is designed to be a permanent way of working – a shared commitment that will run indefinitely throughout the business. It reflects the everyday behaviours, attitudes and standards that DSFS colleagues bring to their roles, and aims to embed a consistent, values-led culture across all teams.
At the heart of The DSFS Way are the organisation’s four core values – known as the 4Rs:
- Resourceful – finding smart, practical solutions to challenges
- Reliable – being dependable and consistent in everything we do
- Respectful – treating everyone with dignity and kindness
- Responsive – acting quickly and thoughtfully to meet needs
The DSFS Way brings these values into sharper focus alongside our FREDIE commitment (Fairness, Respect, Equality, Diversity, Inclusion, Engagement) creating a shared language and framework for how colleagues work together, support one another, and deliver exceptional services to customers.
“We’ve worked hard together across our teams to launch the DSFS Way, consulting with colleagues at all levels on how we shape our culture to deliver the best services we can. It’s a long-term commitment to how we work, how we treat each other, and how we grow as an organisation,” said Anna Doyle, Assistant Director of Corporate Services and Strategy at DSFS.

Anna continued: “It’s about recognising the incredible contributions of our staff and giving them the tools, support and culture to thrive. By living our 4Rs values, we’re building a workplace that’s inclusive, collaborative and proud – not just for today, but for the future.”
The programme also features the work of FREDIE Friends – staff champions who support Fairness, Respect, Equality, Diversity, Inclusion and Engagement across the organisation. Their role will be central to promoting inclusive practices and ensuring that every voice is heard.
Colleagues are being encouraged to get involved by attending events, sharing stories, and using the tools available to embed The DSFS Way into their daily work.
