Kate Schroder
Interim Managing Director
Kate was awarded an MBE for services in health and has a batch of national awards including: CIPFA Financial Innovation, Kings Fund Service Innovation and Cabinet Office Turnaround. With over 25 years in leading health sector management roles, Kate has led NHSE resilience teams, authored clinical improvement manuals and lectured in forensic subjects at home and abroad. She is an elected fellow of Royal Society of Arts Health Division, has honours degrees in forensic subjects and several qualifications in that area including facial reconstruction and crime scene management. Kate has researched at PhD level in clinical improvement issues, including post-mortem reviews of over 1200 cases.
Kate has led the integration of several hospitals and improvement at a rehabilitation unit for military veterans incorporating an end-of-life unit. Kate joined DSFS in January 2025 as Interim Managing Director. She is keen to help develop the organisation and the hospital site, in readiness for handing over to a permanent MD in due course.
